So since chutney songs are allowed to participate in the power soca and groovy soca competitions should'nt power soca and groovy soca songs be able to participate in the chutney monarch?

"No Lokani" and "Prescription" are Chutney styled Power and Groovy songs respectively and both will also be in the Chutney Soca Monarch competition so what really is your argument?

Btw there is nothing stopping any regular soca artists from remixing one of their hit soca songs in a Chutney style and also entering that song in the Chutney Soca Monarch competition before the closing date for entries to that competition.
In fact I think Denise Belfon did that with one of her hit soca songs in the past (2011) and she was not the first to do that!

prophet benjamins song does not sound like soca at all. It sounds like chutney soca.
It is a Chutney-Soca song and Chutney-Soca is a style of soca just like Ragga-Soca is another style of soca. What is your problem with his song?

Full blown Chutney sungs are generally sung in Hindi while Chutney-Soca songs are generally sung in English! :good:
