simple, 2 hours, watch youtube videos and ask the person at home depot/lowes.

FYI: If you dont know how to grout well, I'd have someone else do it for you. lol

lol im multi-talented. Audio, video, lights, computers, websites, cars, software, etc. And even still there are some things i leave to the professionals of the trade and visa versa. When my plumber has a computer question he calls me.. :yu:

pretty much. I tried laying down laminate snap in place flooring in my basement because everyone including Home Depot said its easy peasy.....well that sh*t was hard to pop in place and even harder to cut once you got to the ends and corners. I said forget this and told the Contractor to get a professional to do it.

And let's not talk about my attempt to lay ceramic tiles in the washroom and grout :rofl: :rofl: I got over the do-it-yourself romanticism real quick. Cheaper to pay someone to do it right than frustrate the hell out of yourself.

I just ran some cable wires......put up my new tv on a stand........hung some pictures on the wall........moved my thermostat........certain things take technique and skill.........

i'm not 100% sure yet but i'm thinking of glass or ceramic tile. i helped my father put down ceramic tiles in a bathroom and it came out pretty good. laying down tiles on a wall versus a floor will be different though.

anyway, i wanted to leave it open for ppl to let me know how difficult or simple it was for them based on what material they used.

Is your dad gonna help with this project too?

If you doing those squares of glass tiles it won't be too bad but you planning to install individual tile pieces against a wall having to maneuver around light sockets etc. you best have someone else with you to help. Floor is far easier to do than a back wall.
And a black splash is such a noticeable part of your kitchen and your kitchen's looks affect your property value that for me, I wouldn't risk my DIY skills messing things up :kicks
