Who do you think is most responsible........

For taking the "CHRIST" out of "CHRISTMAS"???

The Jews? The Atheists? Muslims? Jews and Atheists?

I thought this was an interesting quote

"Merry Christmas!! Enough of the Happy Holidays! Is this how you repay the ppl who gave us the freedom to be Jews in America? The Christians are the ones who gave us the right to be free.
We have the right to pornography. Erections are allowed to be mentioned every day! But you cannot say 'Merry Christmas' "
.....Jewish New Yorker, Jackie Mason.

It is true that atheists might be trying to put an end to Christmas, but the Jews are pelting some big stones to the cause themselves. There is no issue with Hannukah so wtf is their issue with Christmas?

i see that hristans are conspicuously missing from your list. i don really wannaget in to the debate of religion in secular america, but there are plenty of christian legislators and their constituents alike who respect the separattion of church and state....likewise there are pplenty so-called christinas who aaremore concerned wit christmas shoppin and frosty the snowman, than with the tenets of christianity.

True but I've never heard about Christians having any issues with Christmas. But just to be fair and because other ppl have different views on the matter than my own, maybe I should have included Christians on the poll but this is about the cause to put an end to Christmas and the new arising issues of simply saying "Merry Christmas".

i think there are plenty of Christians who feel like that don wanna infringe on others not because they need to be PC, but they woudl like to respect others' beliefs. and for the record i would argue that there ware plenty people who would say "merry christmas" who don follow a single teaching of jesus.

I think the point is that Christmas has become so comercialized, that here in America and some other places in the world Christ is not a part of Christmas. It is just a public holiday that people use to get together with loved ones.

My Hindi friend here at work put up a tree and says Merry Christmas but she is in no way familiar with the concepts of Christianity.

I think that maybe Christ started to be removed from Christmas (and Hence Happy Holidays) with the large masses of non-Christians coming to the United States and wanting to assimilate. Just by non-Christian children going to school, they want to participate in a day where they receive gifts.

So, I would have to vote none of the above.

Hmmm, maybe I worded the opening post wrong, but Nisha and Xtasy, you both have some valid points there but what I was trying to get at was who do you think is working overtime to kill this "whole" Christmas thingy just because of its history and what it really means and stands for.
