I hear you. Well from what I saw, they really need people like you. Anyone who has a college dergee and then there Masters can name there price.

S.O. -wise, my woman know that's where I plan on being very soon. everybody know it's part of the package.

my only issue is that i can't see myself working there for anyone. I have to bring a business down there and see how it takes off.

I think about that all too often. I even looked at flights 2 days ago. $384 + tax aint bad.

I think about opening a restaurant/ bar that sells bar-b-Q/ jerk/ curry dishes in an upbeat atmosphere. Or an ice cream parlor that sells exotic flavors of ice cream...i'm thinkin' flavors like pumpinger- (pumpkin/ ginger), nutmeg ice cream etc.

My family and friends heed me not too because of the crime situation home. Not to mention my friends sister re-opened a business this monday and her brother got shot that same day filling in for her. Some guys held up the store. She was walking in the shop and the guys who shot her brother was running out. She said one of the guys was beaten and bloody so her brother must have put up a fight.

I also consider being an attorney at home.

I'm sorry to hear that. However one thing that is happening in Trinidad is that you have a population that feels left out of the progression and progress that is happening there. If you wish to open up a business, make sure that it is something that can not only make money, but can benefit the people who feel left out of what's going on there.

If you go back to trinidad, there's such a big push to build up and develope the nation, but what about the people who don't have the education to be apart of the Trinidad and Tobago "20/20 Vision".

Kevlocks,

Good point. I believe that many people do want to be apart of the growth and progression but they feel excluded and stunted. I"m sure they feel like certain groups of people are doing well financially while they are not. What we need to do is to spread the wealth, but more importantly it's figuring out how we're going to do this? And would those who have be willing to consider these options? I feel that unless the unemployed and unemployable aren't apart of the economic plan and vision we'll continue to see the manifestations of a frustrated and helpless populace. T'dad need investors, but we need to invest in the people and provide them with adequate skillsets to have a few job options.
Indeed, whatever I end up venturing in, the welfare of my people will be considered.

SO true! The 20/20 vision states that by 2008, they wish to have 50% of the population with a computer in there homes with internet access. This is the same island where some people still can't get cellular phone access. It's a difficult situation, but I think that basic training in skillsets realted to technology is what's needed. We'll see what happens!

This is a very good thread Kevlocks,... constructive.

You brought up the 6 months here , 6 months home issue, that might be able to work for me. Other than that I was just considering retirement. It is kind of hard for me, because of what I am studying, and because my S.O. is in the military, to return to Trinidad and work. I really would like to live in different countries and work in those places, but spending some time in Trinidad every year is very feasible for me.
