questions about us invasion of haiti

tryin to help a friend write a paper and we had a few questionswhy did us invade? whats the truthful reason?

once inside marines were used for government control, oppressive racially divided periods backed by us, hypocritical actions, helping to recreate racial divides. etc etc, we can tell their motives were immoral fter the fact, but what was the real reason before?

articles from back then give differet reasons

sorry this is kinda incoherent, any help is appreciated!

why did us take gold and silver to new york a bit before invasion?

i know the US invasion had strong effects socially . . . they cut off haiti's trade with italy, france, and germany.

many of the finer goods, perfumes, threads, etc. which were not available in the US and drew tourist to haiti (esp. in the 1950s 60s 70s) were no longer there.

. . . or so my fathers says
