got mine from DC. waaaaay better. passport came in about 9-10 weeks. totally worth the trip down

What you mean you like the former midtown location and the new one?
All I can say this one is closer to Brooklyn so I can make my way to it faster.

FYI: Taking the 2 or 3 to Wall Street is the closest to the building.
The NY Consulate for Trinidad and Tobago is at 125 Maiden Lane between Pearl Street and Water Street.

Keep in mind they take a certain amount of people per day and people go for different reasons. Use your brain and plan the best time to get there for successful results. If you have an appointment or are scheduled to pick up something still plan the best time to get there for successful results. People does want to show up all 10 or 11 am and want to quarrel.

I was told that you have to call in to set up an appointment for the new passport, but first you have to get the new birth certificate. I have been trying for 2 wks now and no one will answer the phone leave messages no one calls back. This is a pain because next year you will not be able to travel with the old passport.

that is true, you do not need to make an appointment to get the new birth certificate though.

you could go into the office and get the application for the new birth certificate, however, thru the ny off that takes 3-4 months to return. your other option is to fill out the form and send it for a relative/friend in TRINIDAD to go to any of the offices to get it for you. it take 1-2 weeks to get the birth certificate in trinidad. then they send that to you and you will be eligible to get an appointment for the passport.

Yeah my mother going to Trini in Oct. she is going to get it for me, but I trying to set up the appointment now because if does take months and I need my passport before spring next year. Theses people wont pick up de dam phone
