Hey Imix quick question for da peeps whose parents moved away from their caribbean country to da states or canada or anotha caribbean country. Or even da imix ppl who moved away from their home country to another. What are some of da reasons you or your parents did it. I mean i know in general da usual reasons are because of financial opportunities as is da case from where im from. But are there any otha reasons?? Is it all economical??

Reason bein im writin a paper on migration from caribbean islands.

I'm not from the Caribbean but know a few people who moved from
one island to another to be with the person they love.

Easy money- well not really easy but easier than back home.

Even an unskilled laborer can make hundreds of Yankee dollars in a few weeks legally in NY. I know middle class people (teachers, businesspeople) who come up and do things like babysit for their vacation and go home with a thousand yankee dollars....

And education. My parents went to college up here. I lived in J.A. with my Auntie.
