Japan's Health issue...

In Japan the patient-physician role is a dont ask dont tell policy. Scratch that, they do not tell the patient their diagnose if they ask period!
You know in Japan everything is more conservative than the Americas right? The doctors are not telling the patients because it is wrong for the patients to ask the doctor for their medical records. You have to trust your doctor.

Well, if you didnt know AIDS/HIV is increasing in numbers in Japan. I believe, the physicians feel that if they tell the patient their disgnose of a fatal disease, they will go mad! With this said, the people in Japan are living longer then the people in the US.

Do you think the dont tell policy is letting them live longer seeing that they do not know they have a fatal disease?
Is it mind over matter / Psychological thing?
(If you think you are sick, then your body starts to act as if you are sick)
I definitely think it is a mind over matter....

probably some truth to that, but since HIV/AIDS is a global epidemic, the doctor should tell them.

i've always thought that the asian population lives longer because they don't eat all the preservatives, fats and sugars that are high in american diets. they are also a much more spiritually intune people than most americans. science has shown that meditation is good for the mind, body and soul.

It may not make sense to you, but this is how they live. Japan is run by a conservative way of life. An abstract of the Patient-Physician Role

If the doctor is not telling them their diagnosis, then how would they know they have AIDS/HIV? Its not the citizens fault. Currently, there are some law suit cases against doctors, but there isnt alot of lawyers in Japan to fight for the patients rights.
