Finding out sale records of a product

Does anyone know how to research a product to see the success rate of it?

I am thinking I should go to a business library.

Does anyone know of a website I can find this out?

Thanks for any advice.

Depending on the type of product there are probably trade publications that will indicate units sold or sales in $$$ over a given time period. For example,
Billboard magazine reports sales of music whether cds or digital dowloads for major US labels.
