Couples You Admire

At this time of year, many start to think about relationships that they either wish they were in, are in, and are trying to get out of. I'm reflecting on the people in my life that I appreciate most, as well as they're stable relationships. Does anyone have a couple who they admire? If so, why? This can be a married (common-law included) couple, or one that's been in a long-standing relationship. It can be people you know, or those you see on TV (real or fiction). These couples can teach all of us a thing or two.

For me, it's my grandparents and parents. My grandparents will be celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary next week. They're two of the most solid people I know. They love each other, they take care of each other, and they're best friends. My parents, who are married 38 years, possess these qualities as well.

We all need inspiration. Who inspires you?

I agree that all that glitters is not gold, and that couples don't go through their ups and downs. Everyone does. However, we can't overlook the fact that there are some couples that have their act together and others that are shams. I don't call anyone a "perfect" couple. But there are couples that are getting the relationship thing right, and for that, they should be recognized. It's rare...and that's why they should be recognized.
