The rest of you're life in a maximum security prison is worse than death.

Really??

3 squares, cable, groups to protect, college education due to grants that are easily obtained due to impoverishment. Most important, you tax payer is paying for his lifestyle choice.

Good behavior or a loophole in the law, someone didn't dot an I or cross a T and he's out.

they will never make the mistake of letting this man out. college grants have been taken away for most prisoners, especially those serving long/life sentences.

if you didn't know, the death penalty cost 3 times as much as a life sentence. and dat is jus 3x more of the taxpayers money. prison food does NOT taste good, it is supposed to be "nutritious" and that's what it is, nutritious but sho as hell not delicious.

i have no problem wit de sentence, cuz he will have his time when judgement day come. he will have a nice time in hell.

the only thing is that this guy is extremely psychopathic in behavior. most murderers when they want to be caught as he did, show some signs of remorse, this guy is gloating to the point of bragging.

but, the state didn't have the death penalty when he committed the crimes, so he can't be sentenced to death, but it's funny how he stopped when the death penalty was
re-instated. it's as if he feels he's getting his reward by being able to live to tell the horrors.

sick mf.

Thanks for the info. At least now I'm up to date.

This is the first I've heard that it's more expensive for death than life. My understanding was that as the convict gets older (senior citizen) they become more infirm and the price to keep them alive goes up exponentially.

I won't discuss food, you win.

Death penalty is more expensive because of the court costs(trial, appeals, etc). I am all for the death penalty, but in this case I don't mind so much that he got life. I suppose it has to do with his age & that he can be miserable until he dies. I also feel slightly inclined to see people die when they murder people they know & especially children. I saw that they were requesting that they ban him from being able to see himself in the paper(since he got kicks out of seeing himself in the media). That would mean no access to computers, tv & newspapers. Hopefully he'll develop an illness that will get looked over by the prison & die a slow painful death.

inmates in kansas prisons don't have access to computers, so they don't have to worry about that. he'll probably have very limited, if any, contact with the other prisoners so he won't be seeing to many newspapers either.
he will probably become a study subject like ted bundy, et. al. can contribute to the VICAP system. it'd be interesting to see how a seemingly "good man" was a monster in his private life.
