I was watching this documentary on Organized Crime in NYC and they made mention to the "Favors System", whereas if a lawyer gets a conviction of someone that there federal government has been trying to convict, that they in turn get favors, such as court cases tried in the favor of the said attorney (regardless of the evidence, which could prove someone innocent of any crime). Anyone ever had to deal with this issue??
