America and It's "Interests".
So last night I was watching a documentary on PBS about the Genocide that happened in Rwanada 10 years ago. If you think Iraqi's dragging 4 bodies through the street is bad, you need to watch this. I mean black people killing black people senselessly. This makes the Middle East look like childs play. So, basically the US government did nothing, and 800,000 people were hacked to death. Imagin, 5000 people slaughtered in a church and 1 little girl survived. She had to lay amongst the dead and then she had to hide in that church for 43 days! Her fingers on her left hand hacked off! One woman was snuck out of the country to Washington to let America know what was going on because they did not believe there was an actual genocide taking place and they told her, "America has no friends in the world, only interests and they have no interests in Rwanada, therfore there is no incentive to send in troops." As discouraging as that statement is, it is so true. America only sticks it's nose in when there could be a benefit to them.
This is where I ask myself how could they call America the land of the brave when they could turn the other way while 800,000 people are slaughtered like animals. And everyone wants to run to America cuz it's so "great"? This is why I say I am moving back to Trinidad. As one of the worlds "Superpowers", they sure don't act like it. And the stench of the hypocracy in this country makes my eyes run water. |

Point, really and truly i don't think honikane or we as a minority representative would have changed Americas foreign policies towards Rwanda....so if one feels obliged to return to their native country i do not see how that they are being hypocritical by abandoning a country (usa) who's foreign policies are only aligned to issues which serve their own self interests. |

Well Honikane
Now you know the true nature of the US and for that matter the rest of Europe (don’t think the actions of France have anything to do with humanitarianism) The actions of these states have never had anything to do with the ideals they publicly claim to represent. If you’re looking for that then I suggest that you look at some traditional African states and monarchs like King Tenkamenin or Pharaoh Akhenaten or the concept of Ma’at. Otherwise, well…… Historically, the aim of Europe and Euro-America has been one thing and one thing only since the time of the Roman Empire – expansionism. All they have EVER been interested in was to seize and control as much land as possible in order to enrich themselves thereby becoming more and more powerful. Thus, the only places they have been interested in are those places that are rich in such minerals as oil, cobalt, uranium, manganese, diamonds, gold, etc. Anytime, and I mean anytime you try to rationalise political, economic or military decisions made by them, always read them in that context. There is also a strong fear factor, a fear that comes with the realisation that whites account for only a very tiny minority of the world’s population and in numbers that are getting less and less every decade (I strongly advise you to study the theories of such scholars as Dr Frances Cress Welsing and Prof Cheikh Anta Diop). So forget all this hype about being champions of democracy and human rights; that’s for the gullible. Even in the US it has only ever applied to those who stayed WITHIN the parameters of the dictates of Eurocentrism (and as you know, if your skin is of a certain hue, even then it is not a given). |
