Unhappy All This Talk Bout Fire Fi Battymen In JA, But Yet Deh Wanna... (read post)

In a radical shift of position, the Jamaican government is now prepared to hear arguments for, and against, the legalisation of homosexuality and prostitution. Its a move that is likely to ignite new controversy in a country with strong anti-gay sentiments.
Before this, any calls for the Patterson administration to engage in a debate on the issue and for it to repeal the law against buggery had been greeted with a flat "no".
But last week, the parliamentary committee on Human Resources and Social Development, chaired by junior education minister Donald Rhodd, proposed a debate on the issue as a matter of public health.
The issue was raised in the committee report on its deliberations on HIV/AIDS, as Jamaica moves to strengthen its response to the pandemic and end discrimination and stigma against people living with the disease.

so allyuh tink dey arrestin anybody for homosexuality now?? steupsssss

the law has obviously not stopped gay men from bein in jamaican and yuh cyah tell mih dey doh have no gay men, cuz if dey don't...i want to know why de ass dem artists and dj wastin dey time singin bout "bun out all chi chi"

i don't know why they think by legalizin dis law which has hardly been enforced throughout the last century, that the rate of HIV/AIDS will decrease, but i have to give dem props for givin it a try. hopin dat it would work. de only way the stigma would disappear is if ppl became more understanding, that will happen wit time.

as for the prostitution, dem gyul an dem will still find deyself on de corna makin fares. if dis was legal, i doh know...would it be tax deductable? would the gov't want piece of what you makin fuh skinnin yuh leg?? me eh know, seem to have a lot more detail to dat that was not noted in yuh "article"

plus....do you have de link/source?
