abortions...

how do you feel about abortions?

are you pro-choice? against?

if your pro-choice...would you do it yourself?

and who should make the decision? mother should be the only one? father should have a say...and should have the right to keep the child even if the mother doesn't want to carry it?

share your views....

I personally don't believe in it, unless it's a life or death situation where the baby ends up in the fellopian tubes or i got raped or something, other wise i wouldn't do it. I don't have anything against ppl who did or want to do it. I just feel that if they are not ready for children they shouldn't put themselves in the position where they have to have an abortion. Besides i heard how uncomfortable and painfull that whole procedure is and how it affects you emotionally after. I think the man should be involved in the decision making because he's involved in it too not only the female. It's her body and her life but the man should have a say.

i have nothing against it but it saddens me to see alot of young minorities having kids when they are not ready for children an a chile is alot of responsibility an most of these young mothers end up raisin there chile without the father ,but like i say young girls need to be aware of the times we live in an protect them selves against pregnancy so they wont have to deal withthat shituation yes fellas are to blame to in a pregnancy but females are the one that gets pregnant an carry most of the burden

I see nothing wrong with it other than a religious objection...but I think I would do it if I felt that having a child was not the best thing for me to do. I believe that the father doesn't really have a say in it..he has a right to know that you are pregnant with his child and that you decided to have an abortion but I don't believe he has a right to say don't have an abortion and as a result the woman has to have the child. It's her body that is going to bear the burden and it's her life that is going to be disrupted more than his is. It's right if the person decides it's not the best time to have a child in their life but it is wrong if it is done as a form of birth control like some people do...abort children because they refuse to take proper precaution.

THANK GOD FOR ABORTIONS

I have so many disgusting, vile, and unfit females in my family who abandon, beat and mistreat their kids. I wish they had abortions so their kids wouldnt be so *ucked up!

I would not do it, I practice family planning, and respect my body and also raise my kids.

For those women who get raped, or just have an unplanned pregnancy it is their choice to have the procedure (although I feel abortion is not birth control)

It's not my cup of tea, but to each his own. I could imagine the scar of having one. I with the double protection connection, pills and condoms.

If someone decides to I think that both couples should have a say. I know my friend didn't include her boyfriend had one with the influence of her family and when he found out that was it. He treated her like crap.

Yes its true its in the woman's body per se. But put yourself in a man's hands...to know that you are willing to take on the responsability of having a child-only to know that the choice is left up to the mother. We musn't think that men are disconnected from emotions when it comes to babies-sure they may not understand the physical pain-but the life of the child is what is important. IF you are thinking about the baby being linked mostly to the mother later as the burden, it is just as possible for the father to be as involved.

The truth is there is not one conclusion-i think its all relative-so i'm pro choice-it is such a hard decision to make since all decisions have its pros and cons.

But what happens when a pregnancy was inevitable -which can happen-what would you do then? What do you do for family planning?

I think that every woman and man should be able to make that choice for themselves, yes sometimes people don't take the correct precautions but at time things just happens.............. but who am I to say whats right and whats wrong.

There are some instances where you do take the necessary pre-cautions but nothing is failsafe. (Refer to the story that NYTrini posted a couple months ago about the woman who was raped, took the morning after pill and was still pregnant).

I am not against it, and would have one myself if I was in a position that I knew would not be conducive to bringing a child into this world. The news is filled with stories of children dying of starvation in basements; while in college I had the experience of seeing babies born addicted to crack and other substances; As Yanei said, I would much rather see a woman have an abortion than to bring an innocent child into the world to suffer.

The only thing I am against are those individuals who use abortion as their means of birth control.

I'm against abortion:

Too often used as a 'convenient' means of birth control. Involves taking a life/preventing one from coming into this world. Often the would-be father has absolutely no say in the matter. People should accept the pregnancy as part of God's plan...regardless as to whether we agree with or comprehend said plan.

I'm Pro-Choice:

I respect that it's a woman's right to choose what to do with what is essentially her body. I say essentially, because she's affecting the life (body) of another in the process, but were I female I'd be damned if anyone would try and tell me that I had I had to deliver regardless as to what objections I might have. Any moral issues are best left to be hashed out between the woman and the God of her understanding.

The dictates of a patriarchal society that has traditionally/historically subjugated women shouldn't be the final word.

well u r against abortion 2 a certain degree, u r not totally against it. but i don't see how u can be in between. u r either pro choice or against it. i think that ppl s/b responsible for their actions and know what they r getting themselves into; so if that means safe sex to prevent unwanted pregnancy, then so it should be. but unfortunetly it not always that simple. many ppl don't act responsible, so they have to deal with consequences. BUUUUT..... no matter what the consequences are, the decision still s/b left up to the woman. Now i must admit that there s/b a cut off point to when a woman should be allowed 2 have an abortion. that cut off point s/b around 2 1/2 to 3 months. right now i think it is 6 months which is totally absurd. many women deliver @ 6 months, so i don't even see why that is the law in most states. to me it seems that u r only pro choice b/c u don't have a choice. it sounds like u r against it 100%, but have 2 deal with it b/c it is the law. but 4 me, in a nutshell, abortion s/b legal but up to a certain point of the pregnancy.
