Karaoke Soca
I have only found one, follow the link below to buy a Mighty Sparrow karaoke CD. I bought the cd offline since the site is owned by a local and its good. It is the only one I have found.
CaribbeanKaraoke.com Alternatively, I use karaoke off of me computer using a free software called karafun. This plays all sorts of karaoke files as well as cd+g files. Since many recent soca songs are made off of common "riddims", you can get the instrumental riddim and create a karaoke version using karafun. I have done Saddle-Destra One more wine - Machel fete after fete-Iwer Kitch medley-Sugar bum bum/Rainorama/Bees Melody/Pan in A minor and there is a karaoke mp3 of Hot,hot, hot which I also have. I suspect you would need to download karafun to play them. You are all welcome to these if you can use them and if someone can tell me how I can upload them here. Note that these were homemade for fun puroposes only and are not copyrighted, so if any of you want to use them professionally, you would have to comply with whatever laws exist in your location. If anyone comes across any others I would also like to know. Thanx |

I purchased a fairly inexpensive product ($25) called "YoGen Vocal Remover". Depending on the song and how it was recorded, it does a pretty good job. Soca with lots of "brass", like "Dollar Wine" and some of the Classic stuff, it does a great job. But for other songs where all the tracks were merged, when you run the "Vocal Remover" it pretty much destroys the integrity of the song.
I've played around with quite a few Soca songs, which I removed the vocals and saved as MP3. If anyone is interested in them, let me know. I'd be willing to "share"... If anyone has any of their own that they would share, shoot me a message. I'm definitely interested... PEACE... |
