Memorial Weekend Miami 101....

DO NOT RENT A CAR! Its a waste of time because you'll spend literally hours trying to get down Collins and Ocean...Many of the parties will be in South Beach. The only big party outside of South Beach is the Reggae Concert.

Hotel Accomodations: You want to stay from 18th street and down.....Many Hotels like the Continental and Catilina host pool parties and different events. Washington street is not that congested so if your going to get a Hotel there it's a good option away from the madness; except party nights.

Parties: Ocean drive is going to be flooded around The clevelander and wet willies (Get there early and grab a table outdoors because the line will be crazy), also Fat Tuesdays is a good option if Wet willies is packed. Alot of Celebs host parties down there so be on the lookout for flyers being handed out. Beware of false promoters: Many people say an artist will be there and you pay a alot of money to get in for a no Show. Be careful of that; your better off going to Pool parties like i said; basketball players and celebs frequent them alot. The biggest Concert is the annual reggae concert. Which is the only thing outside of South Beach. Its downtown Miami, just over the bridge.

That's about it, in my opinion it became to saturated with young people disrespecting women by grabbing on them and calling them all sorts of names when they don't want to stop and talk. What i find funny is that women are not going to stop and talk if you grab them in a rude manner with YO MA, or Hey SHORTY! Then they look at the woman like she did something wrong. Be careful if your going and be prepared for that.

I can suggest and option B for you: Skip out on Miami and come to Atlanta Carnival......Lots of parties to attend.

Option c: Hold your ticket and pay the change fee to utilize it in Oct for Miami Carnival. You'll have a much better time with a host of parties to attend. Oct 8th-14th......these are my dates which is a Thurs-Wed. It's Columbus day weekend which is the 9th-12th.

thanks pa. Now I'm having second thoughts because I wanted to go to Atlanta carnival but people were saying miami is better and I didn't want to travel alone. Any who if it turns out bad I will know not to go again around that time. Maybe ATL carnival next year. We are going to be there for miami carnival as well and I know that is going to be 100 times better. We rented a condo in Ft. Lauderdale and were told its 30 mins away from miaim where we are staying. So should we say no thanks on the car rental? Yes we are planning on attending a pool party on sunday and just chilling on the beach and sight seeing. Maybe a party or 2. Thanks so much again for all the info

No Prob on the info anytime....If your staying in Ft. Lauderdale then your going to need a rent a car because you'll need to commute back and forth. If you were on South beach depending on what area then you don't need a rent a car. Many people make the mistake of booking a Miami trip on the beach thinking it's South beach, then they end up at 45th street which is wayyyy to far. Like i said close to everything is 18 and down. If you have a car then hey parking and traffic is hell. It's all good you live and u learn. Atleast your going away, others will be twidling thumbs bored on islandmix lol..............
