Whats The Minimum Lottery Winnings that would make you say "Ok I Am Quitting My Job?"

3 million (which would be about 1.4 Million after taxes)?
5 Million (which would be about 2.2 Million After Taxes)?
$1500 for life (which would be about $800 after taxes)?
$2500 a week for life (Which would be about $1150 after taxes)?

What is the minimum windfall that would make you say fuk it, they can take this job and shuv it...
Factor in if you have kids, if you single with a home, or no home, if you paying a mortgage, if you have plans to purchase a home etc..

to actually quit working??? None of those for sure.

Since Canada doesn't tax lotto winnings, absolute minimum would be 10M with a guaranteed minimum return on the winnings of 5% would be required for me to stop working and eat bon bons all day.

so are you folks living "the" lifestyle with your current salary? I fail to see how winning the amount listed would not allow one to live a good life. Unless people go on binge purchases and think that their money is never ending. A house is the most expensive thing most regular folk will ever purchase in their life. If someone buys one wisely and pays it cash, invest the rest a little, what more there is to work for? Why wanting to live like celebs?

the question was about what would get you to quit working. Even if I won less I wouldnt quit working because I like having something to do with my days regardless of money.

So to motivate me to stop working and maybe indulge in hobbies I wouldnt spend my money on normally the amount I posted would be where I'd start to think about quitting work all together. Otherwise, I dont care what I won, I'd still work.

So dont know where living like a rock star comes into the question posed.

Plus I'd live off the interest earned and not the principal

    Minimum would be 12,500,000.00

@ 4% interest on that sum as a fix deposit, i would carry home 500,000 annually..

a nice square figure that sticky fingers in the bank wont touch, both principle and interest, and i can do wonders with the interest with my present mindset

OH i would work one more year so that the interest would kick in the just walk away

I wouldnt quit my job unless I make about 50-100 mil after taxes. Anything under that after taxes is basically vacation/in between jobs money. Folx go get big ass houses and shyt and forgetting that they gotta pay high ass property taxes and cant afford and gotta move out once the well ran dry. "I can't go for that." - Hall and Oates

damn, i guess yall making millions right not at your current jobs to not want to quit for anything under 10 Mil...

I would quit my job for any of those amounts.. but for the winnings on the lower end of the spectrum, i would find a easy ass job just for the health insurance and to supplement my winnings...
The only way i will keep my job for anything above 1 mil is if I absolutely love what I'm doing.. but if not, I am IMMEDIATELY Quitting and finding something that i love doing... or an easy job just for the health insurance.
anything below 1 mil, i am still IMMEDIATELY quitting my job... but I will definately still work, at an easy job though, just for the health insurance... Anything can happen and the doctor bills can eat through your 1 mil or $2500 a week so health insurance is important...
but it wont be a job that I will stress over, i know that..

anything 5 mil and above, i am quitting immediately and finding another job will be extremely low on my bucket list..
10 mil and above, a job will not be a thought in my head at all...
