Jeb?
what are these? do they belong to some form of art movement or is it just art for art sake? where did you find them? also..... when you post these, why not share your thoughts on them , how they make you feel instead of just "jebratting" ![]() |

well i am not sure what they are ... i found them on some sort of gallery so they must be considered some form of modern art...to me at least, they look artificial because of the symmetry and colors yet they also possess a "natural" feel to them almost as if the artist was attempting to capture the "soul" of something hence the "energy" or "force" that is contained within most of them... I really like them because I am not much of "abstract" person who goes in for Picasso and such, but I would have to say that some of these "modern" designs appeal to me... like I said, I am not expert but I feel as though if I were able capture the "soul" or "life force" of someone or something, that these designs would come close as they complex yet at the same time, feel natural... any other thoughts ??

"processart"
This is one that I really like... I am a fan of impressionism and I believe that that is the route that modern cinema must explore in order to realize the full potential of cinema... I know that many people have probably never heard of him, but a few years ago I watched a film by a Greek director called Theo Angelopoulos and his films are the most impressionistic cinema that I have ever seen which is why, in my humble opinion, he is the most important filmmaker working today... one of his films called "Eternity and a Day" really captures the spirit of impressionism since everything appears thinly veiled and when you watch his films, I find that I feel things that I didn't know I could ... it is almost as though he were asking the spectator to feel more when interpreting the world around us... |

well Jeb those pieces are in fact abstract and not Cubist (cubism) as is Picasso's work.. Those pieces do in fact create a mood and have a modernistic energy about them. The artist's use of color is great too- through illusion he does allow the user to fill in the blanks so to speak like ink-blot drawings. |

also, I forgot to mention that I have always been fascinated by the planet Jupiter in large part due to its enormous size however, when looking at some of these stills, it reminds me of what my teacher used to tell us were massive storm/gas clouds on Jupiter... I also think that appeals to me about these images is that they have a element of technology to them and as a result, reflect the modern age in which we live... I am not sure if "absolute realism" would be the best means to do that so these rather unique and engaging pieces really do resonate with me ....

I agree with you SS...
here is the link to the site... I was rather distracted because there around 300 or so different images in the gallery so it is quite overwhelming ... http://www.enchgallery.com/index.htm it is called the fractal world gallery... which is, in itself a very interesting name... let me know what you think ... ![]() |

Yes, those are "fractals". You can find them (that style of graphic art) on most wallpaper sites.

Jebratt, for some reason these images are very disturbing to me and I don't like them. I don't know what Freud would say but all these images make me think of Hell!!!

really... I am sorry as I wouldn't have posted them if I had thought they would be considered scary... I am rather curious as to why they remind you of hell ?? is the shapes or colors ?? granted some do look kinda "smokey" and I pasted a few in another thread that were actually called "inferno" so you are pretty perceptive... i hope they are too bad ??
