UWI St. Augustine or Cave Hill?
So i'm thinking of attending 1 of these universities in the near future, since i really need get outta da states. Bear in mind, i've never been to either of these countries let alone universities. I know there's no comparison for first hand experience but would u all be so kind as to break down some of da advantages of each. Culture wise, university life, academics...i'm leaning a bit towards st. augustine because trinidad is sounding real nice rite now but i'd also like to know whats good in barbados. All opinions wanted, so help a brudda out.

See Ras_Apache's post about what you might expect in Trinidad trinidad and jamaica = an unbiased comparison....
Not specific to UWI, but should give you an idea as to the country and life there. If I were you I'd consider going to a school here in the US then maybe doing a semester at UWI to see what it was like rather than just making the jump juss so. |

St. Augustine your dollar will definitely stretch further.....since accomodation, food, just about everyting in B'dos is more expensive than TnT...
However Cave Hill is a nice intimate Campus....it is not as big as St. Augustine and its easy to get around..... Crime at Cave Hill is also less that at St. Augustine from what i have been told.....students always comment on how u can walk around at night and not be afraid like on some of the other campuses Other perk for Cave Hill which non-Caribean students like is the beach which is right down the hill....cant beat that ![]() But UWI on the whole for studying might offer a bit of a culture shock especially if u are accustom to the American system......I would suggest u consider BnS option of maybe doing a term at UWI in some kinda exchange programme.....

but arent all the programmes at UWI similar across Campuses..... I thought the only difference was that some campuses cover specific areas that others didnt eg. Cave Hill does Law, Monda use to be for Medicine, St, Augustine for Agriculture Science
