Trinidad diversity when it comes to lifestyles?

Does Trinidad have sections that differ from other sections when it comes to lifestyles and behavior?

In Jamaica, there is. Rural Jamaica has a totally different lifestyle from the people in town. They talk, act, and eat differently.

That just goes to show you have diverse Jamaica is.

This is not a VS thread.

I'm just curious to see of Trinidad is the same.

I've been to Barbados, and I don't see how people differ from others in different parishes. St George people are no different from people in St Phillips. Once you're in BIM, you see the same every where you go.

There are about ten different types of people in JA ...

Country - portland, st thomas, St mary, Browns town etc

Ghetto - Kingston - downtown, spanish town, Norwood etc

Elites - uptown kingston, Mobay etc etc

The middle class -kingston/st andrew Portmore - st anns (ochi) - Mandeville

Obviously all areas are mixed except the ghetto but some areas have stronger presence of certain peeps - dif attitude - vibez etc but they are all yardies at their core...

Three broad classifications -

East/West Corridor - from Diego Martin to Arima is Afro Dominated/Urban
Central/South - from Uriah Buzz Highway South is Indo Dominated/Rural
Tobago - Afro Tobagonian dominated

West Trinidad -
Westmoorings, Goodwood Park, St.Clair, Haleland Park, Maraval
White/Syrian upper Class dominated
There are alot of American influence such as the celebration of Halloween and the groceries in this area cater to these people with expensive products and alot of foreign products. These people usually hang at West Mall, Movie Towne and would party at Club Zen and 51 Degrees. Usually they go abroad to the U.S or U.K for University. Most of these people go to prestige high schools for High School or expensive pay schools. They mainly listen to Rock, Pop, Techno.

East/West Corridor - Many ghettos such as La Horquetta, Maloney, Laventille and Beetham with many other middle class areas in Trincity, Diego Martin and Woodbrook/St.James. This area is dominated by Afro Trinis who tend to work in Public Sector jobs, Military, Construction, Police force. They live in a more of an urban sector with little Agriculture being produced. Reggae/Dancehall is popular among the urban youths. Calypso/Soca and Steelpan was pioneered in this area.

Central/South - Indo Dominated with alot of Agricultural production on this area. Very rural, some people even possess a different accent to the town area. They tend to have strong extended families with aunts, uncles, grandmammy everybody living in one house. These people are mainly farmers, the children tend to focus on being big in Law and Medicine. Chutney, Chutney Soca and Rock, Pop is popular in this particular community. It is common to find big houses built on pillars because it is prone to floods.

Yes, places North and North East are sort of rural, there is not hard and fast rule with mixtures but this is just broad classifications. Places like Paramin, Blanchiecheusse and Grand Rivere is rural with farming and preserving of old cultural values. These people are mainly Afro/French Creole and tend to stick to that culture. French Creole language managed to stick in these areas. People from Paramin have a different accent from the average Trini. People in Paramin mainly stick to farming and hardly stray from that. People in Paramin and Lopinot also hold onto Parang Music and thats the best places to hear Parang at Christmas time.
