    Training your replacement...

What would you do...if a company was phasing out your job to give to someone else...Then asked you to train your replacement...What would you do???

    2 different takes:

if u were being fired and had to do it and if u were leaving at own accord.

in either case (even though it may be hard in the preceding example), its wise 2 still show responsibility and maturity and handle the transition professionally.

Salt..I can understand your point...That would fall under the philosophy of "not burning bridges"....

I am in a spot where I have to have my staff train their replacements due to some choices upper management made....

I think it's a horrible deal for them....I have pretty much left it to their accord as to the information that they provide...

They are planning on letting the staff go...And I do hope that my staff is able to find jobs before the end of the transition..This is not the time to be unemployed....

yep. thatz the route i was going on burning bridges. i know it's a hard position 2 be in. i've been in the same spot a few times myself. at the same token, encourage them 2 show them all the tricks. leaving them 2 teach at 'own accord' means more work 4 u if they do it half-a$$ed.
