Are these Islands WI or Caribbean?

Please help mi out and let mi know if these islands are considered West Indian (culturally similar to the popular islands like TnT and Jamaica) or just Caribbean (geographically similar). I am having a hard time classifying them:

    1. Belize
    2. Virgin Islands (US & British)
    3. Bahamas
    4. St. Maarten
    5. Cuba

I feel that all of those islands chosen are Caribbean islands.

personally i would say cuba & st maarten (and st martin too) are just caribbean - in terms of self identification, I would say in decreasing order of West Indian identification BVI, USVI, Bahamas, Belize (not an island at all though) :-)

Geographically, all the islands mentioned are part of the West Indies. Belize, however is part of Central American but located on the Caribbean Sea. I found a definition of the West Indies that might be helpful. I really don't know how many Belizean people would consider themselves Caribbean people. I have know quite a bit and I think it has to do with ancestry and whether they are of African, Mayan or mestizo descent.

Well Belize isn't an island, so I'm not too sure what people from there would consider themselves moreso (West Indian, Caribbean, or just Central American) The other islands listed I think can be considered both because there are located in the Caribbean sea and are in the location of what is called the "West Indies." My best friend is from Puerto Rico and it's the same issue; even though a lot of people do not recognize it, my friend considers herself both West Indian as well as Caribbean.

oh but I forgot that the Bahamas, technically is not in the Caribbean sea region. it's moreso in the Atlantic Ocean region, so I'm not too sure about that one.
