    some people amaze me yes

..a woman i met today ask me what am mixed with...so i told her I'm not mixed, I am black....then she said your not black you have an accent...so i then explained her i was born in Trinidad...she then said that means am not black, cause in her book "black people are people who are from out here"..I then ask her how does she acknowledge most africans..and she said i dont understand because am not from out here..

If you haven't noticed yet many AA consider the term black to mean AA...Africans from the continent and the rest of the Diaspora are something other than black to them.

No..I wanted to get in further dialogue with her to better understand what made her think this way, although I know she did not make sense. I still was curious to know what give her this type of understanding of black people.
