The longtime occupant of Bedford-Stuyvesant’s Slave Theater was busted last weekend for allegedly trespassing in the historic structure, ratcheting up the drama surrounding it.

Clarence Hardy, 77, says he’s a devoted caretaker who wants to keep the theater open - but the heirs of Brooklyn Civil Court Judge John Phillips, who founded the theater, say he’s a squatter and want him out so they can sell the building.

“They locked me up,” said Hardy, who was arrested Saturday and charged with criminal trespassing. “I have a history there. I have a history with Mr. Phillips. The man died in my arms.”
