Seawall's Tribute to Afro Brasil in Music

Got a craving for some beautiful Afro Brasillian music so i made a disc from my collection. Some vids.

    Couldn't find Wilson Moreira's version.

Must have the late great Clara nunes

    Sweet sweet tune.

A version by the young Mariene De Castro.

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.” Frederick Douglass

This is one of those CDs that blew me away. RIP
    Dona Edith do Prato

    Classic! Rip Clara.

I'll digress from the mix just to include this beautiful video.

    two by Caetano Veloso
Couldn't find the studio version on youtube.

Another chune that blew me away.

I have a newer recording by the Samba queen, but this will do.

Wow! Couldn't find a decent vid for this great song.

An artist that a US label tried to break over here. Maybe she was too dark to make it.

    studio version.

A more commercial bloco Afro that had a good run.

A favorite samba reggae by them.

I'll end with some traditional samba.

    From a beautiful disc.
