RSS(OECS/BIM SSU officers) are on high alert ready to be ship to Dominica any minute

    SSU on high alert
Members of St. Lucia’s Special Services Unit (SSU) are awaiting orders to ship out to Dominica at any minute. If they get the order, the SSU officers will join their counterparts from the regional security system, to uphold law and order in the sister island. The RSS made a request for St. Lucian officers after two Dominican police officers were charged with murder on Tuesday. Other officers in the commonwealth of Dominica police force have threatened to lock down the country as a result of the charges.

HTS has confirmed that local SSU officers are on alert and should be ready to ship out within hours of a call. However, our source wanted to remain anonymous as that information is still classified. Most police stations in Dominica are operating with skeleton staff as many officers have downed their tools in protest of the development.

Reports indicate that the two officers charged shut down the station on the night in question for a night on the town. It is alleged that the two officers shot and killed a young man in their drunken stupor. If necessary, the St. Lucia SSU will leave onboard a Barbados military plane. The death penalty remains on the Dominica books, but the country has imposed a moratorium on the practice. The last hanging in that Caribbean country was in 1983.

I don't see ANYWHERE in this Report that the GOVERNMENT or LEADER of DOMINICA have made a request for EXTERNAL TROOP INTERVENTION........

.......I see a lot of blathering about RSS and Alerts.

quite possibly it could be the President, in situations of that nature, the president can act without the PM or the parliment

    Well what happened was.....

a police officer working in the carib territory shot a man there. (both were carib)

The officer was charged with murder but the PWA (police welfare association) were protesting that the officer should not be charged with murder since he was on duty; if he is to be charged then it should be manslaughter.

The protest was not violent. It was just a show of solidarity by wearing some arm bands and a sick out in the carib territory and the officers at the Headquarters were on a go slow. That lasted a day or 2....they threatened but didn't do much......it's certainly not as serious as the article outlined. There was no call for outside help. What the RSS and BIM SSU did was just standard procedure...if the situation was in SLU, the D/ca SSU would be on standby too.
