    Question question for the Jamaicans

    and everyone peeping!

    you guys are always saying Jah this and Jah that.. jah bless and other Jah things. but i wonder (i guess it's not surprising to you!!!) is jah the same Christian God or it is a rastafari thing????

    Jah In Rasta speech, this term is used as a synonym for Emperor Haile Selassie as the manifestation of the Godhead. The term derives from the Old Testament where it appears as an archaic form of "Jehovah" (see Psalm 68:4).

    Its not a Jamaican thing...although the "levity" of Rastafarianism originated from the ghettos of JA, its more a Rasta thing, than Jamaican (i.e. you could see a Rasta Man from Germany) using the term Jah....
