The Duchess of Cambridge has left husband William behind for a luxurious Caribbean vacation with her family. The two week holiday on the exclusive island of Mustique joins Kate to an exclusive club frequented fifty years ago by William's Great Aunt Princess Margaret. Five decades ago, Lord Glenconner had an ambitious dream: to create a private island sanctuary for those who were tired of the usual holiday destinations. Mustique now has over 80 stunning villas and many private amenities. Mustique, a celebrity haunt favoured by Mick Jagger and David Bowie lies 18 miles south of St. Vincent in a collection of unspoilt islands in the Eastern Caribbean. Mustique encompasses only 1,400 acres, measuring 1.5 miles wide by 3 miles long of rolling hills and lush terrain with stretches of deserted white sand beaches surrounded by protected reefs and clear aquamarine seas.The exclusive island of Mustique is at the northern tip of The Grenadines bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. It is part of the Lesser Antilles that are, in turn, part of the Windward Islands of the Caribbean Mustique is reached by air from North America and Europe through Barbados, St. Vincent, Canouan, Grenada, Martinique, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico or Trinidad.

Kate, 30, joined her family, including sister Pippa, yesterday. The average cost of a high season villa rental in Mustique is around £60,000 for a two week stint.This includes a house keeper, chef and maid service.

The villa that the Middleton's were reported to have rented was created by Mustique’s leading architect and builder, the late Arne Hasselqvist. A plantation-style villa that was totally refurbished in 2003. The transformation has infused it with a chic, contemporary interior design, reflected in its all new stylish furniture. Modern amenities such as ensuite baths, an infinity swimming pool and a fully-equipped kitchen ensure comfort for villa guests. The villa’s hilltop location, is carefully positioned shaded verandahs and open living spaces are perfect for capturing the cool Caribbean trade winds. On Wednesday, the Middleton family flew out first class with British Airways departing from London Gatwick to St Lucia. It is predicted that William will fly out to Mustique over the next few days when he finishes at RAF Anglesey, North Wales. In six weeks time,William, 29, will take up his posting to the Falkland Islands.

Good news as Prince William will fly to join Kate Middleton and her family on their Caribbean holiday. As we reported on Celeb Dirty Laundry, Kate and her family jetted off for a vacation on the private island of Mustique on Wednesday Prince William but we now have learned that he is joining the gang once his weekly shift as an RAF search and rescue pilot in Anglesey, North Wales is done.
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, flew to St Lucia on Wednesday with her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, and siblings Pippa and James, before the family went on to the private island of Mustique.
Mustique is one of a group of islands called the Grenadines, most of which form part of the country of St Vincent and the Grenadines. The island covers 1,400 acres and a year-round population of about 500. Mustique is owned by the Mustique Company, which in turn is owned by the island’s home owners. The island has approximately 100 private villas which are often rented out to wealthy tourists.
According to the Daily Mail this holiday could be the last chance the couple get to spend some quality time together before William is deployed to the Falkland Islands for a six-week period with the RAF next month.
The Middletons are regular visitors at a multi-million pound cliff-top villa on Mustique – which comes complete with five bedrooms and its own infinity pool.
