    One Caribbean Flag....

I know almost all islands in the Caribbean have different flags but have you ever thought of just one Flag to represent the Caribbean and what it would be like; especially for the people who have parents from two different islands.

For example just like the US there are different flags to represent the different states and one main flag to represent the United States. Well every island keep their flag and just have one flag to represent the entire Caribbean.

Well whenever the CARICOM or the OECS comes up with the idea of one flag to reprsent the Caribbean they have my vote, what do you think? Are you going to support one flag to represent the Caribbean, if so why? if not then why not?

United we stand divided we fall, remember one Caribbean, we may have different culture, slightly different accent but we are from the Caribbean.

    RE: One Caribbean Flag....

there is to many egos in the west indies for that to happen...for that to happen you go need some form of higher governing body...which island leaders are going to be more influential....your currency.. as we know not all island money is doing good...so to tell a many who dollar is like 3 to 1 US$ to join up with 25 to 1US$ aint go happen anytime soon..Immigration laws have to change where a man in antigua could just come trinidad and work.....but would the people really want the one or two jobs really going to somebody who not from there country?

All these things and more have to be worked out first before we can have one caribbean flag. What purpose does the one flag have if all the islands still on a different page

but what we don't realize that to compete in a global market we going to have to form alliances with each other. As big and powerful as America is you see they Mexico and Canada come together to form NAFTA...MOST of the european countries have joined the european union where goods ,jobs can flow between them without tarrifs and hassle plus they using the same money...even the asian countries forming the alliances too!!

West Indies better wake up before it too late you done see what going on in some of those countries where they depend on banana sale!!!!!

Actually, the federation that was supposed to form, (The one the jamaicans pulled out of because of Port of Spain being the capital and Sir Grantley Adams (Bajan) being the premier) had a flag it was my buddy icon on AIM for a while.
It had a blue background, 2 sets of white squiggly lines as waves and inthe middle a sun (not like Antigua's sun but a sun as it appears in a sunset because that orange color).

This is the old fedreration flag that was mentioned.

As cocorite said the various egos in Caribbean politics make a unified flag a idealistic dream right now.

What is true is that eventually in order to keep their heads above water in the global economy unification may be the only answer. We have a long way to go before we get there.
