    Movie that insults Indian Culture

I dunno if yall saw the advertisement to a new movie comming out called Ghuru. From this advertisement, i see this movie as nothing more than mocking the Indian culture by using every stereotype in the book...
In this day and age of cultural sensitivity and political correctness, who would think someone would put something like this out...

i want to see that movie! i think it looks really funny! they remade a scene from 'grease' in that movie. i don't know if it'll be offensive to the indian culture but don't you think we need to laugh a little right about now?

that is true! coming from someone who's culture is rarely seen on the big screen or often made fun of, i guess i see where you're coming from. nonetheless, i always laugh at 'born in east l.a.'

Okay what about the movie COMING TO AMERICA, mostly everyone I know enjoyed it and it was at the expense of the African culture! These are movies, mind you the people acting in the movie are Indian themselves, if it was so offensive why play the part? I agree with you to some extent Stickman.

Yup! So why should we be mad, I wonder if they're are any Indian communities that are upset by this movie! These types of jokes are done all the time, we make fun of ourselves in those comedy shows! Unless if it was something straight racist from another race group that's calling for trouble!

I think every culture has it quirks. And for the move The Ghuru to be able to employ Indian actors should be looked as a positive for the community. I for one can't wait to see it.

I don't think this movie has anything to do with exploiting hurtful stereotypes as much as it has to do with Americans love for foreign fads and people on the outside looking in. In some ways it can be hurtful to face the reality that some people only want to see you as one thing. But what I believe this movie will show is how gullible people can be when they canít look past the stereotype and see an obvious scam.
