Question Meeting The Parents, or Family Members

Do you get nervous when you're about to meet your S.O.'s parents or family?

Like a brother or sister, close cousin or so?

P.S. ...for the FIRST time that is.

    Yes! ! ! !

It's a nerve wrecking experience for me. I have gotten alot better but I start to stammer and my palms sweat.

    ^^^

    Dayum...you got it bad sis.

I've always been a cool fella so I not really worried about it, supposed to meet her folks next month in DC, however her sis is coming into tonight from outta state and she says that is HER I have to impress, and her parents are a piece of cake.

I'm almost thinking about maybe considering being a little nervous.

She, the mother or she, your woman?

Do you mind stating why "she" didn't speak to you for?

Historically I've never had any problems with parents, only once, and it had nothing to do with me, her parents didn't want her with a man, period, and certainly not a black man.

She was a Dominican from Spain.

To be nervous would mean I'm not sure whether or not I'd measure up to their standards, or get along with them, etc. I've never once had that thought, nor was I ever surprised when it all worked out well.

I think some parents/family members instinctly react to their kin's S.O.'s negatively.

Not necessarily having anything to do with the said S.O.

Many people seem to be that way.

Funny thing is, when they DO need to react negatively to an S.O. that's when they accept them with open arms.

e.g., a guy/girl that's treating their chile with love and respect would get hard looks and cold treatment, but the hoochie mama/wife beater would get de bess treatment.

Doesn't it go so or maybe I juss tawkin shit.

    *shrug*
