Ladies - Are You Wearing the Right Bra?

I wasn't. Like many of you, I was one of those patrons who had only been fitted in Victoria's Secrets believing that they were experts in determining my correct measures with a measuring tape. I was completely wrong! A measuring tape should NEVER be used!

Ladies, if you can, please get professionally fitted. VS knows NOTHING about proper fitting.

For those in NYC, I recently went for a FREE proper fitting at Intimacy on the Upper East Side and my girls couldn't be happier!

Here is the website: {intimacy} Bra Fit Specialists - Changing Women's Lives

I'm sure many of you can relate to the below:

Do your girls a favor and get properly fitted.

Hmmm what method did they use there?

VS fittings are extremely accurate for their sizing though.

Not a female but my mom and aunt does go every few years and use to be after they had children to get fitted and from what I see them people don't fit you propper in vs and ome other stores. Most women just goes and get a bra they think fit them right and yes I does ask them.

In the UK, I got to Marks and Spencer to get measured. Last year, I got the shock of my life! Yes, I was wearing the wrong size, but now, everything is all good.

You pretty much have to strip. They're with you in the fitting room and based on their assessment (prodding, fondling in a professional manner) they fit you with bras.

It's quite intimate and individualized. You have to fill out a questionnaire, are asked questions throughout and taught how to probably choose and wear the right bra.

I honestly don't think VS fittings come close to the experience one encounters at a boutique store that specializes in this.

Yeah, about 85 percent of women are not wearing the right bra size. I now prefer European bras.

now educate me here.. As a man, i was always told that the nipple is to go in the centre of the bra..

from that pic that is shown, it looks like the breast is in the same place..

the nipple is still down, but imo the bra is cut to kinda pull everything together..

is the bra suppose to make everything more compact? or lift and point??

yes i want an honest answer cause me have a daughter and she goin ask me dem kinda question and i not only need to know but understand

edit

her poster is different.. imo, it's an advert gimmick, so please eloborate

The cup is there for support and to help keep everything in place. The above model's nipple is NOT correctly positioned (her nipple should be pointing forward) but the bra does provide her with the proper lift.

To help better position her boob she will need to slightly bend forward using the opposite hand to then scoop and lift her boob securing it safely within the cup. A good bra will ensure they remain in that position throughout the day.

When the time is right, please remind your daughter of the following:

1. She should not wear the same bra everyday. She should have at least 7-10 bras she can use to rotate throughout the week (a different bra per day).

2. Bras should only be hand-washed in cold water with the proper detergent. You should wash your bra after its third use and never before.

3. The life-span of a good bra is anywhere from 6-12months. She should change accordingly after this time period.

ok..

in the back of the purple one, i notice that it is much higher than the pink one.. does that contribute to the fit? cut? and ease of wear through out the day??

Yes, absolutely! That and the straps. I'll have to send you some more information because its only recently I've found out how to properly choose and wear a bra.

My apologies for not answering your question more thoroughly.
