Jamaica lacking representation of Black female beauty
so interestingly enough, Jamaica is a Black country by all accounts, however, Black beauty has not been really represented at pageants, check this, I heard that Jamaica only started sending Black women to pageants in the 1990's or 2000's, plus why they only had their first Black Prime Minister in 1993? BTW other less Afro countries were giving more Black representation

Every country gets misrepresented in international pageants. It's a non issue. Jamaica needs to tackle poverty and corruption first before they address some money making gimmick.
And there are women in Jamaica who look like them. Why can't they represent their island? I mean. They are in fact Jamaican. |

YEAH we know a beauty pageant is not that important in itself, but this is symptomatic of a deep rooted issue though, its the same for countries like South Africa and other Black countries.

Trinidad represents its country respectively?
Of all the years I've been living, I've never ran into an Chiney Trini. Most women who've represented Trinidad back in the day were of mixed ancestry. |

I think OPti have a good point
white supremacy ideology is WORLWIDE .... the euro masseurs control the wealth, power resources , standard of beauty In SLU most of the whites and (mixed with whites) are wealthy. and disproportionate influence.......... discusssion always take a turn because people instead of presenting their point of view launch an attack.... Could be too your thread's intention was to instigate or at lest peceived to be so |
