There's a difference between denying your race, and not making it a big issue.

Well I always find it funny that while its not a big issue in these countries, the bottom class is always occupied by the darkest people and the top by either brown people or other races

that's no longer true sankofaa...ja have ghetto red and white and whatever people as well as black...and uptown have jet black and red and white and whatever else...

It STARTED OUT that way but no longer the case. Only the very ignorant still feel is dem skin colour why dem in x, y, or z position on the social ladder. And you notice even when some get money and move up in life the mentality still screwing wid dem head...e.g. vybz kartel. Who is actually extremely smart but ignorant where this concern, and i'm not sure why. Him done getting any girl him want and still on this bleaching.

All that video is doing is showing that Jamaicans can be of any background. That video can be made for any Caribbean nation. *shrug*

As far as Jamaica first, race after, I just read on another site where a Jamaican said she is "black" first and "Jamaican" second. Sure, the majority may feel that way (culture 1st/race 2nd) but some people differ. Again that can be said for any Caribbean nation.

‘There can be no Mother India for those whose ancestors came from India. There can be no Mother Africa for those of African origin. There can be no Mother
England and no dual loyalties. There can be no Mother China even if one could
agree as to which China is the Mother; and there can be no Mother Syria and no
Mother Lebanon. A nation, like an individual, can have only one Mother and Mother
    cannot discriminate between her children.’

But is only the African who buy that whole sale. Notice Chinese, Indian, Syrian and every other group take dat talk and said a collective "yeah, ok".

Here's an example. You see Africans on Emancipation Day dressed in dem best, day after if you get catch in dem same clothes is "Boy, Emancipation was yesterday...you could take off dem ting now". Yet you will see East Indians in Sari and not an eyelash does bat.
