How Old is TOO OLD for breastfeeding in public???

What do you think about this stuff? Is there an age limit on breastfeeding in public? 2-3 year olds and under? would you be fine with a teenager whipping out his mother's boob and having a meal? what do you think about older children breastfeeding in public.. like kids old enough to walk, talk and write their own name or use a calculator to do their homework??... how old is too old for you?

    Edit: sorry here's the link

To me anything over 2 is over the top. I heard on the Steve Harvey show this morning that a mother is still breastfeeding her 7 year old daughter. Something about that just seems a little too "eccentric" to me.

I find that past a certain age, I think the breastfeeding is more for the mother's enjoyment than the child's. What age does a child normally transitions from the bottle to a sippy cup?

I don't know the age limit with the bottles/sippie cups. I was just inquiring.

And I feel that way because how could it possibly be benefiting the child to let her breast feed till she's 10 if she wants. I mean it is not for health reasons at this point. People wean there children off of sucking thumbs/pacifiers for them to learn how to self sooth -- so i feel like it's less about the benefits of the child and more of the mom enjoying breast feeding her kids

I don't know about not getting their menses. I breasted for a good two yrs and I sure did get my periods. And I know two women who got pregnant while breast feeding their babies.

It's definitely not the norm to breastfeed a ten yrs old child and I think that at that age, the kid will oppose to it anyway. I really don't think that their is a set age really to stop breast feeding, I personally think when the child starts school would be a great indicator. It's definitely pushing it to believe that mothers breast feed for personal pleasure.
