Haitian News, Creole In Prime Time.. Every Weeknight on NBC Miami

MIAMI, USA - It began last week, "The Haitian News" airing weeknights on NBC Miami digital channel 6.2 or Comcast 216.

Reported by the Miami Herald's Haitian Link , the program will be a half hour with news from Haiti and the local South Florida Haitian community.

News from Haiti will be anchored by Christalie Parisot, three times a week; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. The Haitian Link reports that on special occasions, the host will arrange a round table with journalists and other opinion-leaders from the South Florida Haitian community.

On Wednesday and Friday, the community news segment will be hosted by Nixon 'Nickymix' St. Hubert and Elizabeth Guerin as his co-host.

The Haitian News team hopes to broadcast everything of interest in South Florida's Haitian community from cultural to political events and will collaborate closely with the Haitian Link.

Haitians in Miami are so separated though. All you have to do is ask where in Miami they're from and you'll know their "crowd." Its like Haiti all over again. In New York everyone sort of hangs with everybody. New York also has more professionals as that is where the middle class migrated to.

Yea the main reason for that being how close we are to Haiti. Like an hour flight away from Port-au-Prince. I doubt the move though. Once Haitians find their place of comfort they aren't moving.

As far as Brooklyn goes you could say that about all the West Indians. everyone there is Jamaicanized in a sense.
