MANY of the reporters who quit TV6 and ran to the Cable News Channel (CNC3), the Ansa McAl/Trinidad Guardian new television station, are said to be ruing their decision.

“Nothing is happening at Guardian TV,” TnT Mirror was told by a manager at the entity.

“It is almost as if those in charge don’t know what they are doing.

“To put it in local parlance, they don’t seem to know their a#* from their elbow.”

One source also stated: “We ran from one woman who behaved like a bulldozer and we have bounced up another woman who wants to be a bulldozer.

“It is hell; the Guardian TV woman is behaving in almost the same manner as that other woman at TV6 whom she also criticised.”

The source continued: “It looks as if the Telecommunications Authority of TnT (TATT) did us a favour when they pulled the plug on us, and stopped us from coming on air two weeks ago.

“It is clear that they were not ready and they would have looked damn stupid on TV.

“Anthony Sabga must be wondering what the hell the people he put in charge are doing.

“It looks as if the same mistakes that Sabga made in opening the Wire newspaper, which operated for just about one year, are about to repeat themselves.

“If the Guardain TV continues as it is going, it will not even make one year.

“At this stage, no one is sure what is the keep back.

“They were supposed to open since August 31.

“Almost one month has passed and they seem no nearer to opening.

“They have reporters going out like fools and interviewing people and when people turn to Channel 3 there is no story.

“It is a house of madness over at the Guardian building.

“They have their presenters -- Roger Sant, Carla Foderingham, Shelly Dass and Eric Mackie -- training almost without an end.

“They, too, have no idea when they will be going on air.

“It looks as if Sabga has lost his touch for business.

“Or, maybe, the wrong people are in charge of his TV.”

*on a note - the station started airing on Monday 26th Sept, with a lot of errors, no proper sound barriers installed in studio so echos and all sorts of outside interference happening....

in addition - the morning programme (made to immitate morning edition & t&t this morning) has a presenter who should be at home, or out playing golf with his buddies........talk about over the hill.....

    more on the media bacchanal......
yeah ..we media folks does have we own version of them soap operas going on...

    Julian for new TTT?

BABADIAN Julian Rogers, the former TV6 Morning Edition host, is slated to be a main player in the new TTT when it re-opens its doors soon.

But efforts to lure former Head of News Tony Fraser back to the station have reportedly hit a stumbling block.

“The station is obviously going after big names so it can start off with a bang,” said a source.

Recruitment for senior positions in the company is being carried out by Price Waterhouse.

Recent newspaper ads identified a number of posts, which are up for grabs, including that of Head of News.

National Broadcasting Network (NBN), which comprised TTT and a number of radio stations, closed its doors just before Carnival this year.

All the staffers received VSEP payments.

The re-opening date for the revamped television and radio stations has been pushed back time and time again.

i95 FM’s bossman Louis Lee Sing has reportedly been playing a big role in the formation of the “new” station.

NCCTV has been running a limited programme schedule in lieu of TTT, in the meantime.

Meanwhile, Guardian TV, which was scheduled to come on stream on Independence Day (last Wednesday), has reportedly hit a snag.

The new opening is now scheduled for a date to be announced.

“We are just not ready,” a senior official at the new station, which will be operating out of the Trinidad Guardian’s building on St. Vincent Street, told TnT Mirror.

Most of Guardian TV’s employees quit TV6 to take up their new posts.

Many of them also formerly worked at TTT.

TV6 has reportedly been advertising up the Caribbean islands to get staff to fill its many vacancies.

some light humour sometimes will work..some interaction with the hosts...

    hopefully they learn soon...

but as yuh see the staff done complaining already...
and let me tell you...what they left at TV6 wasn't no bed of roses...

i think they have 3 months to get their act together befre the staff walk or go over to CNMG

cause if rumour is right, CNMG (TTT replacement) should reopen in January...

the first start date was November but the infrastructure doesn't seem to be ready..
however they have been running ads in the dailys for executive staff
