    glad we can laugh now....

....so i finaaaaaaaaaallly get a chance to come back an peep post pon imix. so i was joking wid angie to tell her that i luv imix. dunno if she did it or not , but incase yall were wondering yes we did survive the fake hurricane. really glad we can laugh about it now, but lemme tell unnu, by wed night h8ll really started. i got phone calls from friends an family asking if it was really that bad as they were showin on tv with the people fleeing an lemme tell you IT WAS WORSE!!

so some of you know i was using this as an excuse to road trip to dallas an hang wid one a my girlfriends right? so after 9 hours of searching for gas including a total of 4 hours of waiting in lines for the gas (1 of which ran out when i was the 3rd car in line) i finally found some. by that time it was thursday morning. and when i was watching the the tv, and talking to most of my peeps here who did try an flee, i made the decision that the h8ll i was already going through, might as well ride it out. it was too late to try an leave. an all the people i was talking to on the roads were literally going through hell. one of my girlfriends drove 1 mile in 4 hours (no exaggeration) b4 she turned back around an came home. another friend of mine drove 12 hours and turned around to a spot that is about a normal 45 min from home. people it was insane .

so keep in mind now it is thur right. an rita comin in like 10 or so hours. some of my other family turned around btw to come wait it out with us, because they live in one of the mandatory evacuation zones. they have 3 kids all under the age of 6 and they had been running low on gas an had already drove 5 hours to not even make it out of houston. so anyways we all had the mindset that we were gonna leave right. tha means you dont prepare for the hurricane. ummm so that means we had no friggin food. except stuff that has to be cooked. if yu see the cooking that go on in 5 hours, yu woulda think it was thanksgiving. but in the meantime i went searching the streets for food, cuz we hadnt eatin since the day b4. EVERYWHERE was closed or outta food, except popeyes. THANK YOU POPEYES once again(btw that was a 2 hour wait as well, down the highway for chicken). so chicken an gas in 11 hours!!! it was like CHRISTMAS oh yah also went to get some money from the atms (all of them were out). so the city had no gas, no food, no money, since yesterday. an that is still very select an scarce as they try an restock the city. so bad most businesses are closed till wednesday. h8ll i tellyah, not to mention, i dunno if they were testing if they were going to lock of the cities power, but they sure did keep locking it off. mind yu temps have been 100 an 100+ (except friday, it was beaaautiful) all these past days as well .

well lets fast forward to 7pm when the "hurricane winds" were to come in. umm why they never came? we were still supposed to see/feel sumtin in our area. once again i thank GOD we are okay an the storm skipped us completely but with all that "media propaganda" we were robbed. the amount a money we spent on gas an thing an waiting an we didnt even get RAIN!!! no joke, the ground was dry, no winds, no clouds. except for a good half an hour at 2:30 am on friday morning. it has been the most idle time of my lifffffffffe. i was driving the streets everyday, cuz luckily we not in the curfew area. but jed that is the worst h8ll we been in. as a matter of fact we went an open up a club sat night, cuz everyone was so darn imprisoned for these few days.

so with this long story said, we are all beyond okay, bored outta we mind, and tellin jokes like crazy about this whole event. some of my friends in the beaumont areas an thing didnt get as lucky though, so once again we probably gonna start up a next ting for them. but honestly i can see how/why katrina happened the way it did. because next time something like this happens i can vouch that most a these 2.5 million people that fled, aint gonna do a dyaaam thing an gonna get stuck. not to mention the ones who intentionally were never plannin to leave. but us houstonians do get to laugh. as a matter of fact lemme share 2 text messages i got :

Text1: "houston residents, you have just been punk'd. bring your asses back home!"..(i sent this to some of my friends that did actually make it after hours an hours a travelling an it was not funny to them )

Text2: Katrina told Rita, "I handled my shiat. What happened to you? You aint do shiat." Rita replied, "yah, but i had dem hoes running!"

    What a story poster.

Lemme tell you...I hope dem people don't plan on tekking deez hurricanes lightly.

It's quite obvious that American infastructure is not well equiped to handle hurricanes...it just isn't.

In the Caribbean we get lick dung, mash up, and we bounce back relatively quickly with minimum hassle...relatively speaking.

This country is not set up this way, largely because the lifestyle and/or infastructure is so reliant on technology. As was evident in your story with the part of the ATMS being out of money...something as simple as not having access to your money could mean a BIG ting in the time of need.

I think it's good the people decided to flee. You just can't take these things lightly anymore, as was evident in Katrina. Yes, you could have "ran away" for nought when you realize dat ain' no drop a rain reach, but what if the Hurrican decided to swing your way? Den what? You woulda get mashup inside your homes.

    It's better safe than sorry...right?

It's better to have "ran away" and "waste money" for nutting, dan to tek it lightly and get frig or even killed thinking that it wasn't going happen.

    In my opinion.

I think that's what people need to consider in this case and in future cases.

But anyway, yes...it's good you and your peeps is safe.
