Don't freak out ppl. Yea u pimptress

The story says the main problem is with allowing websites to install software.

Just go to Tools-->Options-->Web Features-->Allow websites to install software.

Make sure that option is turned off. Then yuh safe. And/or turn off JavaScript, then yuh twice safe.

Dem PCWorld people might as well be called Micro$oft Magazine....because dem bash anything that threatens Micro$oft.

And most of Mozilla/Firefox's "exploits" are actually things that end users are allowed to do and are not necessairily a security hole.

I'd rather know "if I click here this will happen" than me doing ordinary web browsing and get infected with viruses and spyware. Just keep updating yuh firefox browser and yuh good. Most of these "exploits" ordinary pc users will almost never run into. At least they FIX their bugs.

    lil Firefox tuneup for ya

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

    network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

    2. Alter the entries as follows:

    Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

    Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

    3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

I would like to state that the network.http.pipelining.maxrequests number of 30 is just an example. The number that may help you best attain your sweet spot will vary based on the speed of your connection. To large a number may cause perceived latency. Also there was some concern over this increasing server loads, but this should not be a problem usually (1 page served is still 1 page served). The exception is if people have frequent disconnects from your site, then the process of pipelining everything simultaneously can be a little more costly.
