    Yep, very much a long-term problem. Babies don't turn into adults overnight. They'll have to do more to encorage persons to stay on the island or even to immigrate to it.

    Yup.. they'll have to start making the island more appealing to Dominicans and foreign nationals... convince them that it's a place they want to settle and raise their families!

    Or maybe they could beg the other islands to rounds up some teenage mothers and their offspring and cart them off to DA. Would make use of the rising levels of teen mothers in some of the islands...

    this same issue was discussed in my economics class. america has the same problem with out social security set up. it gone have a small few of us paying for a whole heap dem old folks and no one to pay for ours when we get older. now a days people just ain breeding like they used to

    Yeah, the emigration rate in DA is astounding. Alot of women who conceive in DA also fly to the US to have their kids then head back home. So you know what will happen when those children reach an age when they can file for their parents... Alarming.

    Yeh that is happening in the Caribbean a lot. I'm of those type of kids lol.

    Yeah this is another issue indeed.

    Its a cycle though. The economic situation has to improve to encourage people to stay, but unless people stay, the economic situation won't improve.
