I have seen the commercials and I donít think thatís the message he is trying to send. People need to realize we are at war and you donít change ships in midstream.

Depends on how u view where that ship is going....For one, there's never been more anti-U.S. sentiment around the world than there is now (and for the past year-plus) as a result of Bush's ignorant self-righteous with-us-or-against-us handling of the Iraq conflict. Hard to fight a war with the whole world.....but that's just an opinion.

As for Kerry, by his mouth, he has opposed a number of Bush's policies which I disagree with....that's good enough for me (the enemy of my enemy is my friend)

Kerry is very confused. In 91 he voted not to send troops to Iraq. In 98 he said Iraq need a change and we ď the united states ď should get rid of the evil dictator. 2001 he voted for the patriot act now he is against it. 2002 I voted yes on the war with Iraq and 2003 he voted not to aid the troops he claim to love. Sounds like a lot of flip flop to me. We need someone who will stand up for what they believe in even if itís not popular. That is what you call leadership.

so, what you are saying is that a politician should stick by a position he/she stood for in 1991 even if the politics may have changed? politicians are human beings. as human beings, they are capable of having a change of opinion. i.e. there are lots of people who may have thought abortion was wrong at one point but later became pro-choice after some kind of life experience, and vice versa. does this mean that said individual is unreliable and/or incapable of leadership?

But yuh dun know all politicians gwaan de same way.

In February 2001 the gov't (Powell & Rice) said Iraq did not pose a nuclear threat -- years away from developing wmd's. Then 7 months later Iraq was an imminent nuclear threat months away from wmd's.

Just after 9/11 Powell said Iraq had no connection. Then a month later, and then for a year, they repeatedly said Iraq had al-Queda connections and implied thusly a link to 9/11. Nowadays they are denying there is a connection, and strangely also denying they ever said there was. Guess they think no one has internet or google.

First we went to war b/c Iraq was an imminent threat i.e. a threat now. Then they might have wmd's. Then he's a dictator. Then they don't have wmd's. Then the troops only staying 3 months. Then a year. Then as long as it takes.

First the economy making 1 million new jobs. Then half that. Then 20,000. Then we're breaking even.

Dem ah all kiss butt de same way to save face and garner votes.
