i feel like the discussion here is focused more so on how forgiving/accepting we are of others when it comes to their shortcomings in spite of whether they are really great at one or several things. personally, i'd like to see a bit of a "role model" in the people that i associate with. there's plenty that i like about my close friends, but there are also things that i really dislike/don't agree with. i'm sure they can say the same for me.

NO!!!!!!!!!! (i c u like pink). its ask for a given role model (in you case you choose you parents) do you except them wholly(their good and bad) as a role model or do you dissect them for specific qualities. Lets say your dad is an abusive alcoholic, but has really great work ethics. When you look at someone who you would like to emulate his/her work ethic do you choose your dad or do you disregard him altogether because of his abuse and alcoholism...

I answered the question, again.
I simply did not expound and give examples or give an example that you wanted to hear...

OBVIOUSLY you are aware of your parents flaws and there will be things that you admire about them and other things that you eschew! What do you want, to give examples and be some kinda bleeding heart? okay i'll humor you.. i admire my mother's dedication to her profession, her work ethic but her aloofness is a quality within myself that i work to curb. you satisfied now?? smmfh

Out of 100 popular hip hop songs this year, how many would you say are 'good' and could be used as a role model for the youth?

I'd say 1 out of 100.

Out of 100 popular reggae songs this year, how many would you say are 'good' and could be used as a role model for the youth?

I'd say 40 out of 100.

lol @ good and role model to the youth ...

First, you will have to be a follower of hip hop music to know what is good..are you ?

Second, you sure most of those 40 reggae songs are just inspirational to reggae fans ?

Third, what is popular when comparing these two genres don't make sense..because a hip hop song that is more popular in Cali but average to the rest of the world is STILL MORE POPULAR than a popular reggae song that is just popular in the caribbean community an average to others, because of its audience population

...we can have this discussion forever

No athlete or artist or politician has ever or will ever be my role model.
