CARIBVISION LAUNCHES ON DIRECTV USA

Mon, 09 Jul 2007 15:39:00

Bridgetown, Barbados, 06/07/2007 – CaribVision’s official USA launch today will signal a new era in Caribbean TV programming, while bringing the flavour of the islands to DirecTV’s viewership via channel 2181.

CaribVision, the Caribbean Media Corporation’s 24-hour cable channel, is a 100 percent Caribbean-oriented channel, which features a unique blend of quality Caribbean news and programmes.

It is multifaceted, culturally rich and reflective, informative, entertaining, accurate, as well as comprehensive in its approach to keeping the Caribbean Diaspora abreast of what is happening within the region.

Officially launched on August 1 last year, CaribVision, deemed the “the eyes and ears of the Caribbean”, is available on major cable stations throughout 19 Caribbean territories and now on DirecTV channel 2181 in North America.

“Through CaribVision, the ‘Authentic Caribbean Channel’, we intend to build a network which will allow Caribbean populations to interact and share information about the issues which affect our communities regionally and internationally,” says Errol Clarke, Chief Operating Officer for the CMC.

“We have been making considerable inroads in establishing the channel as one which is easily accessible and our endeavors with DirecTV is just another step in CaribVision’s way forward,” he affirmed.

Through talented professionals, cutting edge technologies, and regional talent, CaribVision presents a world-class lineup, which includes: News & Current Affairs, Talk Shows, Comedy/Drama, Entertainment, Travel, Cooking, Children/Educational, Game Shows, Sports and Cultural Events.
