    Question CurryCrabnDumplin or LadyR...questions!

Thinking about hopping over to Puerto Rico next weekend since Jet Blue just started flying to/from the VI and has cheap fares. =)

Do you know how long it would take from the airport to Plaza las Americas?

LR especially, do you have any other recommendations for shopping?

Do you all have any hotel recommendations, preferable anywhere close to or in between the mall and the airport?

(Curry, I believe you said you don't live in San Juan, but in case you find yourself there often...figured I would ask)

With no traffic, 9 minutes...moderate traffic about 14 minutes...heavy traffic, God help you.

In San Juan? most locals shop in the "plaza del mercado" area in Rio Piedras...it's on Paseo de Diego in the centre of Rio Piedras. It's not pretty, but you'll find a lot of stuff...it looks like downtown Port of Spain, the way the shops are set up. If you're only interested in modern shopping centres, Plaza Las Americas should do the trick. I don't know of any other one in San Juan that could compare as far as variety goes.

Right...I live further east...not really too familiar with the hotels in San Juan even though I work in San Juan...the only hotels I've stayed in are some throughout the island up in the mountains.

You should look for a place to stay on Air BnB, it’ll be cheap and mostly safe with locals. Also, because it’s not a chain, you may be able to be picked up/dropped off and will have a lot of recommendations.

well if you want to stay in iSla Verde, there's El San Juan Hotel and Casino.. it was pretty decent, there is a club that you can go to for free if you stay there, if you stay somewhere else you pay 20 bucks to go.. it's a decent club.. i liked it.. There's also the Intercontinental hotel, and some other reputable ones on Isla Verde avenue.. there are a variety of eclectic little shops in viejo san juan.. on like calle san francisco etc.. it really depends on what you want to get. there are the usual touristy shits but there are also little trinkets that really bring out the spirit of puerto rico...

CCND is right, tis about 10 -1 5 mins to the mall, not that much...
Never waste your time trying to explain who you are to people who are committed to misunderstanding you.
