    cell phone in trinidad question...

    can i buy a digicel or lime cell phone in nyc that will work in trinidad? i keep hearin commercials for top up your phone but do thos places actually sell the phones also?

    Yes. Just make sure its GSM. You'll pay a pretty penny to roam though.

    I personally prefer buying a phone in TT that I can use at a much cheaper rate to make local and international phone calls.

    thats what i am trying to avoid doing. i was hoping that i could buy one of them trini phones someplace in brooklyn. since they promote lime and digicel so much here in the USA i figured they might sell lime or digicel phones here also

    I thought any Tmobile or ATT unlocked phone wud work

    it would just be easier if i could get one here. then i wouldnt have to worry about buying one there cause i would have it already. if i cant find one here i gotta take some of my LIME TIME to go look about a phone

    i have an att phone but it isnt unlocked. where is a reliable place that i can go to get mine unlocked? it is an iphone 3. how much they charge to unlock them?
    Google it. I unlocked a lot in the past.

    It takes like 5mins

    cant you just call ur service provider and tell dem u travelling out of the US and wud like to have the unlock code for ur phone?

    or u cud get somebody to unlock it down here for about 150-250ttd

    Yes, you can. But one recommendation. As far as you are going to use your cell phone in another country you have yo pay attention to local area codes. Save this site https://areaphonecodes.com/ireland/ to your bookmarks. There are listings of all area codes of all countries.
