CBS to ban Janet from Grammys......grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

If CBS says no to Janet I say we all so no to CBS and don't watch the damn censored show.

When major corporations start doing this schict again and banning performers like Ludacris because of something he's done or said in the past, then this country has a real problem.

SAY NO TO GRAMMYS, all in favor "HANDS IN THE AIR"

You right I don't normally watch anything on CBS, cause I can't remember the last black show they had on that station. Probably the Jeffersons, back in the 70's..

Next they'll wanna ban James Brown for the misdemeanors he's experienced in the past few years..But Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Willie Nelson all remain saints (convicted drug addicts)

This is getting too out of hand. It's not Janet...it's the media. The media is making a huge deal out of a breast. It's only a breast, it's nothing odd, it's natural, every woman has them.

Not that she needed publicity to sell her records with all those fans but just for this situation with the media, her blasted record should sell BILLIONS, she must be almost as rich as Oprah when it's all said and done.

CBS can haul they muddac*** If no Janet...I'm not watching the Grammys.

    DUO CAUGHT IN BOOBY TRAP

    By DON KAPLAN
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 3, 2004 -- CBS is moving to bounce Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake from next Sunday's Grammy Awards amid the national uproar following their X-rated, prime-time Super Bowl stunt.
Sources told The Post the network will demand the two stars be tossed from 46th Annual Grammy Awards if CBS's probe shows the duo schemed in advance to expose Jackson's pierced breast during the halftime spectacle.

Jackson admitted as much in a statement last night, saying, "The decision to have a costume reveal at the end of my halftime performance was made after final rehearsals."

She said MTV, which produced the show, did not know about the boob surprise - and she apologized for the stunt, saying "it was not my intention that it go as far as it did."

The Grammys will be held in Los Angeles and will be telecast by CBS, which also showed the Super Bowl. Jackson is scheduled to be a presenter and Timberlake is slated to perform.

As many as 90 million fans watched what will undoubtedly become the most famous halftime performance in history. During a sex-charged duet of "Rock Your Body," Timberlake sang, "I'll get you naked by the end of this song" - and then ripped off a piece of Jackson's leather top, exposing her breast.

Jackson's nipple showed through a metallic, sun-shaped medallion held in place by a tiny piercing.

In his apology, Timberlake said the titillating surprise was not intentional - it was merely a "wardrobe malfunction."

But he later told "Access Hollywood" that "we love giving you all something to talk about."

CBS and MTV both denied they knew ahead of time about the stunt, but photographers covering the Super Bowl reported that reps for the two artists told photographers where to stand in order to get the best view.

One shutterbug said handlers for Jackson and Timberlake advised them to be "ready for the surprise."

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Powell blasted the halftime spectacle as a "classless" and said the FCC will immediately begin an investigation.

"Like millions of Americans, my family and I gathered around the television for a celebration," said Powell. "Instead, that celebration was tainted by a classless, crass and deplorable stunt. Our nation's children, parents and citizens deserve better."

Officials at TiVo, the popular device that lets people record and replay live TV, reported that the moment was the most "TiVoed" in the company's history - and the Internet buzzed with pictures and videos of Jackson's breakout performance.

Her record company took the opportunity to send out copies of her new single to radio stations.

MTV apologized for the incident and the NFL said the cable network - known for pushing boundaries - will never be invited back to produce a halftime show.

In an internal memo obtained by The Post, CBS boss Les Moonves told staffers, "I want to offer my personal assurances that we are looking into this matter and will do everything we can to get to the bottom of it.

"We attended all rehearsals of the show and there was no indication at any time that such an inappropriate display was contemplated."

Don't get me started. We do deserve better than the media shoving this trivial nonsense down our throats while real concerns like the upcoming election, the candidates, why our troops are still in Iraq, etc... etc... than a singer's boobies. how about the parents teaching thier kids about violence in the world, self esteem issues so we won't have another Columbine incident. My point being: There are more PRESSING issues to think about than JJ's breasts.
