    Blackberry users... another question

    Is there a way to use your blackberry's wireless internet connection to get onto the internet with a laptop using the usb cord?

    You have to buy/obtain the software so that your laptop recognizes the device as a modem.

    also benjie- have you tried this before? if so how fast is the internet speed?

    If you have TMobile just call their b/berry dep. and they'll walk you through the set up. I've been using mine this way (whenever there is no WiFi) for months.

    I am not sure what software came with your phone. Was it a usb driver cd? If so, that might be it.

    @ Ras- I dunno but most mobile devices have the capability to be used as an external modem via the data cable.

    Sorry to hear that. With TMobile it took them about 15 minutes with me on the phone... right out the box I was able to connect. The connection is slow ( = to dialup 115.2k), no where close to WiFi, but when you have nothing else (like on Amtrak) it's good to know you got something.

    has a nice walkthrough on how to do it. If you are on T-mobile or Cingular and is connected using EDGE and not GPRS, you should be able to get 256kbps.
