^That thread is more about DVDs and whatnot though. I meant to ask more about comic books in general...Superman, X-men, Japanese comics, Chinese comics....

I come out to geek out this post. Yes, I still buy comics but not as much as I used to. I have a collection in the thousands. Some boxed some in bad condition. Big fan of the X-Men series and spin offs, New Avengers, the new Superman series etc. I can't buy like I used to cuz frankly they too damned expensive!!

I am nerd and proud of it.

I really like X-Men and the setup and all, never liked it until I became a teen though.

    I was really into marvel
My favorite was a marvel spin off called New universe
the who series was set in real time.
There were people with superpowers but no real superheros running around in spandex...
It was set up to be a realistic version to the MARVEL universe

    Sorry it was cancelled.

As for the regular marvel universe I got into
    Spiderman(amazing,new web&spectacular)
    New mutants
    X-factor
    X-men
    SOME avengers

    As for DC
i never really got into them
I think they were too old school
However I did like their Novel/comic
    Watchmen

I liked X-factor and X-men. For some reason, I've never liked Superman or Batman or those types..

What is this "Watchmen"? What was the plot?
    Edit: Nvm.

maybe because superman and them are in the DC
    universe

they are old school and have(pre crisis)an old school feel

as for the watchmen(other people may want to know also):

Watchmen is a twelve-issue comic book written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons, and originally published by DC Comics as a monthly limited series from 1986–1987.[1] It was later republished as a graphic novel.[2]

Watchmen is drama that incorporates moral philosophy, popular culture, history, art, and science. It is set in an alternative history 1980s America where costumed adventurers are real and the U.S. is close to a nuclear war with Russia. Public opinion towards the notion of vigilantism has soured and public demonstrations demand the police be reinstated as the de facto marshals of law. Meanwhile, members of The Minutemen, a defunct organisation of costumed adventurers, are being murdered

Watchmen's status as a seminal book in the comic book genre was given further credence when acclaimed comic book author Stan Lee called it his "all-time favourite comic book outside of Marvel."

The New Universe was cool. I remember that. They recently visited the New Universe in Ex-iles. Yeah me too, I never got in DC. The common complaint is that the characters were never realistic.

The Watchmen was a brilliant series.

Exiles is a dimension-sufing team of mutants - Sabretooth, Blink etc. Its a pretty good book. Recently they were visiting a lot of the "universes" that Marvel canceled. Like the New Universe, the 2099 series (Spiderman 2099 joined the group recently) etc.

DP7 was the ish! Don't forget these:

    Justice
    Kickers, Inc.
    Marc Hazzard, Merc
    Nightmask
    Psi-Force
    Spitfire and the Troubleshooters
    Star Brand

I like the fact that NU had no aliens or hidden races(besides the old man in star brand), gods or mythological beings, magic, or supertechnology.
    and they pulled it off.

I also loved starbrand and psi force.

Hey I use to be really into Marvel comics ( i still like them but i am not super into it any more)...I use to collect the comic books and the cards but then i had to chill with it when i was younger because us common American kids got introduced to Japanese anime..and pretty soon nobody cared about buying or trading Marvel cards or comics any more ...........................
