I was listening to him talking about searching pockets of suspicious persons, random stop and search of vehicles and wire tapping into legislation, these are the things needed to put a serious blow on criminals. Go Mr. Spencer

They should have a long time ago, but as you know whenever the international media gets wind of something negative about these islands we get in panick mode and only then we feel the need to do something drastic. I remember when a white woman (lois macmillan) got killed here a few years back and 4 white guys got arrested for it it was all over CNN and court tv and they really put down the local police force for how it was handled.

Now I am all for stop and search business because i had a cousin killed few years ago and that is how they came to solve his murder quickly because the fool that did it had the gun under his seat driving around.

It's not about the couple from England, it's the economy. Antigua
depends on tourism as its leading source of foreign exchange.
Sometimes a well publicized tragedy serves as the catalyst for
change from which many benefit. The bottom line is without tourist
dollars a lot of people will be unemployed.

In OTHER WORDS, if the BRITISH TOURIST wasnít MURDERED, the GOVERNMENT of ANTIGUA would not been PRESSED to ENACT LEGISLATION that would have SURELY BENEFITTED the SOCIETY of ANTIGUA.

This SUDDEN RUSH to ENACT these LAWS is basically done to KOWTOW to the WHITE FOREIGNERS, no?

By the way, I UNDERSTAND all about TOURISM being CENTRAL to ANTIGUANíS ECONOMY.

As you know, tourism is a business and businesses have to react
to circumstances that arise that threaten their well being. In a
perfect world the govenment of Antigua would have effective
law enforcement which would have prevented this from ever
    happening.

There are plenty of other destinations vying for the tourist dollar.
Let's face it, it is in Antigua's best interest to act in a way that
counters the negative press that they are receiving because of
this high profile case. It's not about race, it's about business.
